Hampton Inn – Blue Ridge, Georgia

Hampton Inn – Blue Ridge, Georgia

Hampton Inn opened in the heart of Blue Ridge, Georgia in 2021. Its location is right next to the historic Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad. Blue Ridge is a town that was created by the coming of the railroad. The owners embraced the value of the town’s history and sought out Historic Displays to create two different themed displays.

The Hampton Inn’s ground floor features a more traditional display recalling the historic buildings in Blue Ridge. Classic frames and mattes with photographs and details on the buildings provide a wealth of information to the visiting hotel guest before they head out to explore the town.

Hampton Inn’s fifth floor elevator landing was an opportunity to create a contemporary display on floating metal panels that tell the history of the railroad coming to Blue Ridge in 1886. The display is an appetizer for guests on their way to the ‘Hook and Eye’, Hampton Inn’s fifth floor restaurant and lounge. The restaurant and lounge offers breathtaking views of Blue Ridge’s downtown area with seating indoors and outdoors. The name ‘Hook and Eye’ was suggested by Historic Displays to the Hampton Inn owners as that was the nickname for the rail-line that ran from Marietta, Georgia to Knoxville, Tennessee. ‘Hook and Eye’ were terms coined for  two unique pieces of railroad engineering that were designed to get the railroad through the rugged mountains.
